Contemporary restorative procedures under the microscope for endodontically treated teeth: a full-day, hands-on course by Drs. Rick Schwartz, Marga Ree and Ron Fransman
Long-term success of endodontic treatment is highly dependent on the restorative treatment that follows. Therefore, it is beneficial for the clinician who performs the endodontic treatment to do the initial, foundational restorative treatment at the time the endodontic treatment is completed. In this hands-on course we will perform the most common restorative procedures that follow endodontic treatment, using models specially developed for this purpose. There will be some lecture, but most of the time will be spent doing the procedures over and over again until everyone is very comfortable with the procedures and the doctor/assistant interaction. We strongly encourage you to bring at least one assistant. We will also provide written instructions for each procedure step by step, and ordering information for the instruments and products we discuss.
Course topics include:
- Bonding procedures: dentin, enamel, ceramics
- Restoring access cavities
- Selection of different post and core materials
- Matrix systems, interproximal contact points
- Post placement, build-up and cosmetic build-up
- Doctor and assistant “choreography”
