Endodontic Surgery

Our Specialists Save Damaged Teeth

Patients are often referred to Endodontic Consultants of San Antonio by other dentists for root canal treatment because of our advanced training, outstanding reputation and long track record of success.  It’s important to note that only 3% of all dentists have the necessary qualifications to become endodontists.

The value of specialty care

Our doctors have all completed rigorous university based post-graduate training of at least 2 years after dental school.  Their practice is focused on a few procedures that they perform thousands of times each year.  Consistently good outcomes result from advanced training and experience.  In medicine, if you have a heart problem you see a cardiologist.  It is no different in dentistry, for specialized treatment the highest level of care is generally  provided by a specialist.  In addition to their clinical expertise, our doctors have been involved in research throughout their careers.

What if you have a tooth with root canal treatment that is failing?

In some cases, root canal treatment can be redone to correct problems that were inherent in the first procedure. The procedure is referred to as “retreatment.” In other cases the tooth can be saved by performing a minor surgical procedure called “apicoectomy” or sometimes referred to as “root end surgery.”  During the surgery the infected part of the root may be removed and the infection removed from the surrounding bone.

At Endodontic Consultants of San Antonio, our doctors ensure patients receive comfortable treatment by completely numbing the area around the tooth. This ensures that you won’t feel any discomfort during your visit. Additionally, we provide various options for sedation if you are an  anxious or fearful patient.

Do not ignore pain or swelling. These  problems will not get better on their own. Call (210) 405-0473 to schedule an appointment with one of our doctors today. They will start by diagnosing the source  of your pain and determining the best treatment plan to resolve your problem.
